Historical Background
The Siddha Bhairavi Temple is dedicated to Goddess Bhairavi, a Fierce and Compassionate Form of The Divine Mother. The Presiding Deity is worshipped as Eka Pada Bhairavi — meaning “One-Legged Bhairavi” — due to the unique form of the Idol. She is depicted with one leg and four arms, each holding symbolic weapons and gestures of protection and blessing.
According to local legends, the Sacred Idol was discovered over 200 years ago by a farmer while ploughing his land. The plough struck a stone, which turned out to be the Idol of The Goddess, bearing an injury mark from the incident. Recognizing the Divine Presence, the villagers began worshipping the Deity. In 1937, a formal temple was built at the site to enshrine Her.
