Historical Background

The temple is dedicated to Goddess Bhairavi, a fierce manifestation of the Divine Mother. The idol, known as “Eka Pada Bhairavi”, is unique, featuring one leg and four hands. According to legend, the idol was discovered over 200 years ago by a farmer ploughing his field. The plough struck a stone, revealing the idol with a visible injury mark from the plough. Recognizing its sanctity, the villagers enshrined the idol, and a temple was constructed in 1937 to house it.
