The “Siddha Bhairavi Temple” for the Worship of Mata Bhairavi

The Siddha Bhairavi Temple is a revered Shakta Peetha for the worship of Mata Bhairavi, located in Odisha, India.

The sacred vigraha (idol) for the worship of Mata Bhairavi is depicted standing on a single divine leg with four divine hands. It is said that the divine vigraha was discovered by a farmer while ploughing his field and was enshrined in the temple in 1937.

The Siddha Bhairavi Temple stands as a significant spiritual destination, offering a unique confluence of religious traditions and receiving devotees and tourists throughout the year.


Temple Complex and Architecture

The temple complex is notable for its 108 smaller shrines surrounding the main sanctum, each dedicated to the worship of divine forms, including the 12 Jyotirlingas, Mata Vaishno Devi, Dashavatara, Venkateswara, Ranganatha, Mata Meenakshi, and Badrinath.

Additionally, there is a significant shrine within the complex housing the vigrahas for the worship of Lord Jagannath along with his divine siblings.

The temple is especially vibrant during festivals like Dussehra and Sankranti, receiving devotees from various regions. Tuesdays and Sankranti days are considered particularly auspicious for worship.
